Compared with the previous generation MEOW R16, this generation of MEOW R16 Pro has undergone more recognizable changes in appearance, from the “MEOW” word LOGO with 45° light and shadow superimposed on the entire A side, upgraded to a cute big cat’s claw of this generation supplemented by irregular concentric circle lines on the edges, and MEOW’s orange LOGO has also changed from a single “MEOW” four letters to orange kitten paws.
The C-side design of the MEOW R16 Pro focuses on the touchpad, WASD keys, and the bottom right corner this time. The white touchpad is silk-screen printed with a concentric circle pattern similar to the irregular lines on the A-side, the MEWO logo and the text “SHINE UP YOUR STYLE” are in the lower right corner, and WASD retains the four orange keycaps with a cat’s claw pattern from the previous generation. Compared with the previous generation, the current generation of MEOW R16 Pro has reduced text elements in the exterior design, added more patterns, and is generally more concise and better-looking.
The surface of the fuselage continues to have a consistent smooth feel, and the silky feel of fine matte polishing makes me completely forget that this is a plastic gaming laptop made of plastic because it is cost-effective, and the palm rest position can also be kept fresh during long-term games, and it is very easy to get fingerprints, for example, I basically only need simple cleaning when taking pictures of it, unlike some other models that are very easy to get fingerprints on with just a light touch.
The C-side keyboard has a small keyboard area, and the power supply is independent of the keyboard area in the upper right corner of the fuselage.
The screen size is 16 inches, the ratio is 16:10, the resolution is 2560*1600, the refresh rate is 180Hz, and the 100% sRGB color gamut is covered. The screen maintains the current mainstream level of gaming laptops in the case of high cost performance of the whole machine.
The D side is an enlarged area of heat dissipation openings, and you can see that the holes protrude from the middle position, corresponding to the position of the internal memory of the fuselage, which can bring a certain amount of airflow to the memory and help the memory dissipate heat.

2. DLSS 4 blessing! Orange R16 Pro performance test
1. Graphic part
The MEOW R16 Pro is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce’s new Laptop GPU RTX 5060, using NVIDIA Blackwell architecture, upgraded with fifth-generation Tenser cores, fourth-generation RT cores, and a new SM multi-unit stream processor, with higher rasterization performance and performance under DLSS and ray tracing, and upgraded GDDR7 memory to have faster memory bandwidth than before.
Specific to the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, it has 3328 CUDA cores, 8GB GDDR7 memory, 128bit memory bit width, and 384GB/s memory bandwidth, and the power consumption of the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU in the Colorful Orange Treasure MEOW R16 Pro is set at 115W at full blood.
In 3DMARK, Fire Strike Extreme, which represents DX11 performance, scored 15,932 points; Time Spy, which represents DX12 performance, scored 12,427 points; The frame rate in Speed Way, which represents DX12U and ray tracing performance, is 31fps.
The RTX 5060 Laptop GPU achieves the same performance as the previous generation of higher-level RTX 4070@140W with a lower power consumption of 115W.
In addition, the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU supports the exclusive DLSS 4 multi-frame generation technology, which greatly increases the frame rate and superimposes the introduced Transformer model, providing higher stability and reducing smearing, which is comparable to the original picture.

2. Physical calculation part
The Colorful Orange Treasure MEOW R16 Pro continues to use AMD Ryzen R9 7845HX processor, the CPU core part adopts TSMC 5nm FinFET process, Zen4 architecture, has 12 cores and 24 threads, dual CCD design, maximum turbo frequency 5.2GHz, L3 cache 64MB, TDP 55W.
The results in CINEBENCH R23/CINEBENCH 2024 are as follows:
CINEBENCH R23 single-core score is 1815pts, multi-core score is 25666pts;
CINEBENCH 2024 single-core score 108pts and multi-core score 1237pts.
We also tested the CPU-Z benchmark as well as Geekbench 6, and the results are shown in the image below:
CPU-Z single-core score is 671.5, multi-core score is 10897.1;
Geekbench 6 scored 2714 for single-core and 11186 for multi-core.
Although the R9 7845HX is nominally the previous generation architecture, not AMD’s latest Zen5, it has 12 physical cores and supports hyper-threading, and TSMC’s 5nm FinFET process, which is already leading the process among consumer x86 processors, makes it appear with RTX 5060 Laptop GPU at such a price in the gaming laptop market in mid-2025, which is particularly cost-effective, and even if the cost-effectiveness is not considered, R9 The performance of the 7845HX is still at the top level even now.
3. Storage part
As a cost-effective gaming notebook, the Colorful Orange Treasure MEOW R16 Pro comes standard with 16GB DDR5 5200MHz memory. In the AIDA 64 Memory & Cache Benchmark, the memory read, write, and copy speeds are 35728MB/s, 32203MB/s, and 29383MB/s, respectively, with a latency of 87ns. From a theoretical performance point of view, the read and write speed of single-channel memory is indeed not as good as dual-channel, but single-channel memory does not have a big disadvantage in terms of game performance compared to dual-channel, and it is more convenient for users to upgrade later.
The pre-installed 1TB solid-state drive is PC41Q from YMTC, based on the four-channel main control PCIe 4.0*4-lane solid-state based on the Xtacking 3.0 architecture, Dram-Less design, which is very suitable for placing low-temperature solid-state with poor heat dissipation environment such as notebooks and mini hosts, with a maximum read speed of 5810MB/s and a maximum write speed of 5431MB/s.

4. Game performance test
Except for special instructions, 2560*1600 resolution, in-game VS synchronization is turned off, frame rate smoothing and other settings are used during the game test.
(1) Online games
The first is “DOTA2”, which presets the highest quality gear and replays the second game of Ti13 Finals Liquid vs GG, from the Chinese commentary perspective, the average frame rate of the whole game is 98 frames, and the 1% Low frame is 54.
Then there is PUBG, which presets the highest image quality, plays a third-person four-row game on an island map, watched after death until the end of the game, with an average frame rate of 114 for the whole game and 75 for 1% Low.
Then there is “CS2”, which runs the fps BenchMark in the workshop with the lowest quality of 1080P resolution, with an average frame rate of 468.2 and a 1% low frame rate of 152.9.
Finally, there is BenchMark for FF14, which supports DLSS and is turned on at the same time during testing, with an average frame rate of 79.6 and a Low frame rate of 48.
(2) 3A game
In Assassin’s Creed Shadow, DLSS balances gears, presets high quality, runs the game’s built-in BenchMark, and has an average frame rate of 60.
In Total War: Warhammer 3, the average frame rate was 68.3 for a battle scene running the game’s built-in Benchmark at higher quality.
In Horizon 5, the preset “Ultra High Quality”, running the game’s built-in BenchMark, has an average frame rate of 92.
(3) DLSS 4 game test
In “Black Myth: Wukong”, 100% rendering + cinema-quality picture quality, running the game’s built-in BenchMark, the frame rate performance when turning off frame generation/turning on 2x frame generation/DLSS 4 4x frame generation is shown in the figure below.
In Cyberpunk 2077, the default image quality is adjusted to “Ray Tracing: Super”, running the game’s built-in BenchMark, and the frame rate when frame generation is turned off/2x frame generation/DLSS 4 4x frame generation is turned on, as shown in the figure below.

HX processors are decentralized from desktop use, thanks to stronger single-core performance and more abundant cache in comparison, all kinds of online games can run at a fairly smooth frame rate; In 3A games, the GPU is more important, and the rasterized performance of the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU is basically the same as that of the RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, which is higher than the previous generation, and the natural game frame rate performance is good, and all kinds of large 3A games are basically stress-free.
The new DLSS 4 feature of the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU is to provide a frame rate increase that almost doubles DLSS 3 again for the large 3A with higher GPU pressure, and now, a dessert-level GPU like “60” can also run at smooth frame rates in the pursuit of higher image quality, even games like Black Monkey that require extremely high hardware resources.
3. Antipyretic ability test
In terms of heat dissipation specifications, the Orange Treasure MEOW R16 Pro is equipped with dual turbo fans + five heat pipes + four air outlets, and has three performance gears of performance, entertainment and quiet in the control software Control Center, and provides four modes of automatic, maximum, custom, and turbo for fan speed.
Using AIDA 64 Stress FPU+Furmark 3840×2160 0xMSAA for CPU+GPU dual baking, after 30 minutes, the CPU temperature is 78 degrees, the power consumption is about 56W, the CCD1 full-core frequency is about 3.2GHz, and the CCD2 all-core frequency is about 3.1GHz; the GPU temperature is 78 degrees, the power consumption is about 114W, and the frequency is about 2137MHz;
After 30 minutes, the CPU temperature is 94 degrees, the power consumption is about 108W, the CCD1 full-core frequency is about 4.3GHz, and the CCD2 full-core frequency is about 4.225GHz.
Using Furmark 3840×2160 0xMSAA for GPU single baking, after 30 minutes, the GPU temperature is 71 degrees, the power consumption is about 114W, and the frequency is about 2145MHz.
The MEOW R16 Pro can reach a core performance release of about ≈170W, the GPU can run the basic 100W+15W Dynamic Boost, and the dual-core temperature is kept in a low range, which is in line with the release level of the current cost-effective gaming model.
4. Colorful AI assistant – Xingzhi Island
Although the Orange Treasure MEOW R16 Pro is positioned as a cost-effective gaming laptop, Colorful also has a built-in Star Island AI assistant for it, which is consistent with the higher positioning such as iGame M15/M16 Origo and Source N14.
Star Island inherits the three more common models at present, namely Deepseek, Byte Skylark and iFLYTEK Spark, which supports deep thinking and network search, and can directly use these three models without opening the web page.
In terms of functions, in addition to the regular text functions, textual pictures, programming guidance, with the characteristic mouse one-click wording function, free Ai tutorial area and image generation and other functions, the newly upgraded “Ai Reading Assistant” can also quickly read and summarize various PDF documents, in addition to providing a lot of scenario-based functions, as shown in the figure below, are all available to young office workers or college students.
For example, select the mind map function to generate a map of the “monthly report of sales staff in the automobile 4S store”, and the content can also be modified after the map is generated.
The Wensheng Map function is also a more commonly used project, supporting multiple ratios, customizable resolutions, and generating corresponding images after entering keywords.
Built-in 3 major models, multi-scenario targeted training and tuning, Star Island allows users to enjoy the multi-model integrated large language model experience without downloading other software or opening the web page, in addition, it is worth mentioning that Colorful did not give up the Star Island because of the positioning of MEOW Orange Treasure R16 Pro, but maintained the same software function as the model at the factory with higher price products, and did not launch different versions of the same configuration and increase the price due to this function.
